Inaccurate inflow and generation forecasts cost hydropower operators real money – through imbalance costs, missed trading opportunities and inefficient dispatch. With **HydrocastAI**, we at alitiq are currently developing a forecasting service as part of an ESA-funded feasibility study that tackles exactly this problem. 🛰️

## What is HydrocastAI?

HydrocastAI combines satellite data, radar measurements, numerical weather models and local hydrological data into hourly inflow and generation forecasts for the next **24 to 96 hours** – significantly more accurate than what is possible today with manual or purely statistical methods.
